Attempted murder in Scots town probed after man deliberately mowed down

Scots cops have launched an attempted murder probe after a man was mowed down in a broad daylight attack.

The 25-year-old was struck by a vehicle in Main Street, Newmilns, on Friday afternoon.

The white SUV struck the man, who has not been named, at around 2.45pm in the East Ayrshire town.

He was rushed to the nearby Crosshouse Hospital, near Kilmarnock, where his condition is said to be stable.

And officers from Police Scotland are now appealing for help from the public in a bid to catch the failed killer.

Detective Sergeant Keith Hyndes, from Kilmarnock Police Station, said: "This has been a terrifying experience for the man involved, and we are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident.

"The area was also busy with other vehicles, and would like people to check if they have any dash cam footage they could provide to us."

Anyone with any information should contact police on 101 quoting incident number 2149 of June 18, 2021.
