A probe has been launched after the 'unexplained' death of a Scots pensioner.

Locals reported seeing police, ambulance and forensic units at Henderson Park, in the Windygates area of Leven earlier today.

A 70-year-old man was said to have died 'suddenly'.

Police said the death was being treated as 'unexplained' but that there were not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Around 11.50am on Wednesday, 24 February, officers were called to a property on Henderson Park, in the Windygates area of Leven, following the sudden death of a 70-year-old man.

"The death is currently being treated as unexplained, pending further enquiries, but there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances."
