Police probe launched after body found in grounds of Paisley hospital

A major police investigation is underway after a man's body was found on the grounds of a Paisley hospital.

Cops are treating the grim discovery at the Royal Alexandra Hospital as "unexplained".

A large section of the site near wards 38 and 39 are sealed off with officers standing by.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were made aware of the body of a man being found in the grounds of the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley around 7.20am on Wednesday, 24 March.

"The death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances."
