A manhunt is underway for firebugs responsible for two separate vehicle fires in Airdrie.
The first took place in the early hours of Monday, March 15, after a Volvo was torched at an address on Cambridge Crescent.
Fire crews raced to the scene after the fire then spread to an Audi TT.
Luckily they were able to extinguish both vehicles safely before anyone was hurt.
Police are now hunting two grey tracksuit-wearing suspects in connection with the incident.
The second blaze, which is thought to be unrelated, took place half an hour later at 2.30am.
An Audi Q3 was set alight at an address on Ballochnie Drive.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service rushed the scene and again safely put out the blaze.
Detective Constable Katie Goldie, of Lanarkshire Division CID, said: “Thankfully there has been no injuries as a result of this reckless behaviour.
“Although this happened early in the morning, we are asking if anyone has any information surrounding each of these incidents to get in contact with police.
“If you were in the area at the time and noticed anyone acting suspicious, please get in touch with officers.
“Police can be contacted by calling 101 and quoting incident number 0220 of Monday, 15 March, 2021.”
