Police probe break-ins at Robin House children's hospice in Balloch

Heartless thieves have stolen garden equipment from a Balloch children's hospice, leaving staff shocked and dismayed.

Robin House Hospice, which provides support for terminally ill children and their families, was targeted twice - with police now probing the thefts.

Devastated CHAS gardener Maggie Brown said: "We in the gardening team work very hard to make the gardens a place of joy, beauty and tranquillity for our children and their families to make memories in. To think that someone would steal the equipment we need to do this is beyond belief.

”We have had to undertake a range of costly security measures but I would still urge anyone who has any information to contact the police.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Enquiries are ongoing into the theft of gardening equipment from a container at Robin House in Balloch.

“Two incident have been reported, including overnight between 22 and 23 September and a second incident which happened over the weekend of 9 and 10 October.

“Anyone with information can call 101, quoting incident 1304 of 11 October, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
