Police probe attempted murder after man found injured in east end street

Police are investigating an attempted murder in Glasgow's east end after a man was found injured in the street.

Officers raced to Dalmarnock Road, Bridgeton at around 2:55am this morning and the 31-year-old was taken to the Royal Infirmary for treatment.

The street has been closed to traffic between Main Street and Megan Street.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “Around 2.55am on Sunday, 6 September, police were called to a report of a man injured on Dalmarnock Road, near to Megan Street, Bridgeton.  The 31 year-old man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he is being treated for his injuries.

“Detectives are currently carrying out enquiries in the area and the incident is being treated as attempted murder.

“Anyone with information that may assist the investigation should contact Shettleston Police Office through 101 quoting reference number 0609 of 6 September.”
