Police have launched an investigation following a report of a teenage girl being assaulted near the canal by Firhill Stadium, in the north of Glasgow.
The alleged Maryhill attack is said to have taken place in the early hours of this morning.
Eyewitnesses report seeing part of the canal taped off by police.
Police say they are following a 'definite line of enquiry' as part of their investigation.
A Police Scotland spokesperson told Glasgow Live : "We're carrying out enquiries following a report that a teenage girl was assaulted near the canal at Firhill at about 5am this morning.
"Enquiries are ongoing.
"We are following a definite line of enquiry."
