Police probe after thief steals cash from Stirling restaurant

A thief smashed their way in to a city restaurant and stole a three figure sum.

Gabe’s Diner at Forthside was targeted in the early hours of Monday.

The eatery, in Forthside Way, had a window smashed in the raid and cash as well as a number of other items were swiped.

The Gabe’s Diner Facebook commented on the incident. They posted: “Unfortunately the phone, amongst other things has been stolen, so we can be contacted on here for now.

“If in the unlikely event anyone saw anything please let us know. Stay safe”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.45am on Monday, February 1, police were called following a housebreaking at a cafe in Forthside Way, Stirling.

“A three figure sum of money was stolen. Enquiries are continuing.”

Customers of the restaurant shared their concerns.

One posted: “This is horrible news. I hope the folk that did it get their comeuppance.”
