Police probe after man finds a 'brain' on the beach in US

Police have launched an investigation after a man found what is believed to be a brain wrapped in tin foil on the beach.

Jimmy Senda was strolling along Racine Beach on the Wisconsin coast when a square package covered in aluminium caught his attention earlier this week.

When he opened it up, he found what looked like grey matter inside.

Police do not believe the brain comes from a human but said they cannot rule it out until a sample has been analysed.

Speaking to Fox6 News Mr Senda said: "Curiosity got to me, so I popped it open and it looked like a chicken breast.

"It took a little bit for it to really register what was going on."

He added: "It was a brain."

Not quite believing the situation, Mr Senda stopped a nearby group of men for a second opinion. They also agreed it looked like a brain.

There was also a bunch of flowers and a note written in what appeared to be Mandarin found alongside the package.

"There's a lot of kids and families that are down here," he added.

"What happens if a kid would have found it?"

Officers told the broadcaster that the contents of the package looked like a brain, but it is not believed to have belonged to a human.

The sample will now be tested.
