Cops have launched a probe after a man was allegedly stabbed to death on a Lanarkshire street.
A disturbance was reported today on Airdrie High Street at 4.40pm.
STV news reports that the man was stabbed in the street.
Emergency services raced to the street but the 48-year-old died at the scene.
Police are now investigating the death.
Detective Inspector John Lewis, of Lanarkshire CID, told STV news: "Police were called around 4.40pm on Sunday, following reports of a disturbance on High Street, Airdrie.
“A 48-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.”
“Enquiries into the incident are ongoing."
