Police probe after man, 51, found lying injured on Glasgow street

A police probe is underway after a man was found lying injured on the street in Glasgow's east end.

Emergency services raced to the scene on Fairburn Street in the Tollcross area near to Tollcross Park around 8:20pm last night.

A 51-year-old man was discovered with injuries and was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment, the Daily Record reports.

Police set up a cordon to block off the street for several hours last night as enquires got underway into the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesman told the paper: "Officers attended at Fairburn Street in Glasgow at around 8.20pm on Thursday, 4 March after reports that a 51-year-old man had been found injured.

"He was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary Hospital for treatment and enquiries are ongoing."
