Police probe after human remains discovered in south west London home

Police are investigating after human remains were found in a south west London home after concerns were raised about a resident.

The remains were found as police searched the property in ​Nowell Road, Barnes, on Friday, Scotland Yard said.

An analysis confirmed they are human and officers are now trying to establish the identity of the deceased, the spokesman added.

A police statement said: "Officers attended the address after concerns had been raised about the welfare of an occupant

"An analysis of the remains have confirmed they are human.

"Officers from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command investigate.

"A post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course."
