Police presence after officers forced entry into home in the early hours and man was taken to hospital

Police have been patrolling a street in Bolton after forcing their way into a home in the early hours.

A man was taken to hospital after police forced entry into a house in Jedburgh Avenue in Heaton.

Officers were first called to the scene at around 4.20am on Sunday morning after reports of concerns for the welfare of one of the occupants of the home.

Police had to force their way into the home and a man was found needing medical help, say Greater Manchester Police officers.

The man was taken to hospital and police remained at the scene for hours, into the afternoon.

One resident in the area, who wished not to be named, said police were asking questions door-to-door this morning, enquiring if residents had heard any disturbances and if everyone in the area had been socially distancing.

The resident said police left the street shortly after 12.30pm.

Police have confirmed that no arrests have been made and no one is currently being sought in relation to the incident.

Force duty inspector Darren Moore told the Manchester Evening News : "At around 4.20am, an ambulance was contacted.

"It was a concern for the welfare of an occupant.

"Entry was forced and an adult male has been taken to hospital.

"There have been no arrests and no one is being sought at this stage."
