Police praise 'hero' engineers for transporting wheelchair

Police in Bristol have heaped praise on railway engineering workers who helped transport a heavy wheelchair to hospital "when no one else would help".

Staff from engineering and construction contractor Taziker who were working at Bristol Temple Meads station answered the call when the electric wheelchair needed to be moved to a local hospital.

Posting to Twitter in the early hours of Tuesday (August 17), British Transport Police from the Avon and Somerset division offered "massive thanks" to the workers for transporting the wheelchair in their truck so it could benefit "someone in need".

The force added: "Heroes don’t wear capes, they wear orange."
