Police have thanked local mountain rescue teams after a busy few weeks on the hills.
Officers from Forth Valley Police Division assisted the teams and other emergency service partners to nine mountain rescue callouts in just one week.
On Tuesday June 29 around 11am on Conic Hill, Lomond Mountain Rescue Team helped a woman with a leg injury, who was airlifted to hospital.
The following day, around 2pm, at the West Highland Way at Inversnaid, the Lomond MRT assisted a man who had fallen and struck his head.
And on Thursday July 1 about 11am at the West Highland Way at Rowardennan, the same team helped a man who had fallen and suffered head and chest injuries. On the same day around 1pm they also assisted a man who had collapsed on Conic Hill.
On Saturday, July 3, about 10am at the West Highland Way, Killin Mountain Rescue Team assisted a woman suffering chest pains, then around 2pm they also helped a woman with an ankle injury on Ben A’an. The Tayside Mountain Rescue Team also assisted a woman with suspected broken leg on Ben Vorlich around 3pm that day.
On Sunday, July 4 around 3pm Killin MRT were called to help disorientated walkers on Ben More by taking them back onto the correct descent path, whilst at about 4pm Lomond MRT assisted a man with severe abdominal pains on Ben Lomond.
A Forth Valley Police Division spokesperson said: “Everyone involved in these incidents were safely assisted.
“Most of the rescue teams are made up of volunteers who have given up their own time to assist others. We’d like to say thank you to all of the mountain rescue teams for all of their efforts recently.”
Killin Mountain Rescue team recently paired up with community police officers from Forth Valley Police Division at the foot of Ben Ledi, to show walkers the importance of using OS locate with a map and compass.
