Police post tongue-in-cheek message to car owner who left Class A drugs on display

Police have posted a tongue-in-cheek message to a car owner who left Class A drugs on display in their vehicle.

Officers were called to Chorlton after somebody reported a man acting suspiciously near to a parked car on Tuesday.

When detectives arrived they found everything was in order, but there were some "potentially valuable" items out on display.

Class A drugs could be seen from the window including cannabis, cocaine, amphetamine and heroin.

Police said there were also scales, wads of cash as well as stolen goods inside the vehicle.

The car has been taken into a police compound.

Officers have invited the owner to come and collect it and shared an image of the haul of items on Facebook.

The message to the car owner, posted on GMP Chorlton and Didsbury, said: " Following a report of a male acting suspiciously near to a vehicle in Chorlton, officers attended to check everything was in order but it appeared that the owner of the vehicle had left some potentially valuable items on display.

In order to ensure that the vehicle wasn't broken into by anyone, officers took the vehicle to a police compound, where the owner can come and collect it.

"We've also taken the items that we believe are cannabis, cocaine, amphetamine, heroin and stolen goods and kept them safe for them also.

"We can check when they pick their car up if they want to lay claim to them. Or the few hundred pounds in cash. Or the scales."
