Police poke fun at man found with items used to make vape liquid

Police poked fun at a man who was arrested after being found with items which can be used to create liquid for e-cigarettes.

In a post on Facebook titled 'Breaking-Bad-ly', officers referenced the hit US TV show Breaking Bad where a chemistry teacher turns to crime and starts producing drugs.

They also mocked up their own version of show's title screen, which is inspired by the periodic table.

Officers in Chadderton, Oldham said they arrested a man after noticing a smell of cannabis from his car.

Inside the vehicle, they found 'numerous ingredients' which they said can be used to make liquid used in e-cigarettes.

They also found a 'large quantity of cash', a knife and 'several' mobile phones.

Police said the man was arrested and has been released under investigation.

The post on the GMP Chadderton page read: "Breaking Bad-ly.

"Officers from the Chadderton Neighbourhood Team arrested a male adult in South Chadderton on the evening of Friday 5th February 2021.

"Initially stopped and searched due to the smell of cannabis emanating from his vehicle, officers swiftly located numerous ingredients inside the vehicle which can be used to make vape liquid along with a large quantity of cash, a knife and several mobile phones.

"He was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class B, possession of an offensive weapon and money laundering.

"The male has since been released under investigation pending formal identification of the items seized.

"Worryingly we are seeing more and more youths using e-cigarettes with suspicious vape liquids.

"Please be mindful of what your children are using and where they are sourcing these liquids from."
