Police poke fun at delivery driver left with 'muddy walk home' after sat nav blunder

A delivery driver who continued to put trust in his sat nav despite it leading him down a muddy West Yorkshire field was forced to abandon his vehicle after it got stuck - in the mud.

The unfortunate driver was left with a muddy walk through the field on Monday.

The West Yorkshire Police Dogs Twitter account shared photos of the abandoned van yesterday (Monday).

The tweet said: "You’d have thought at some point this delivery driver may have started to consider that his sat nav wasn’t taking him on the most ideal route.

"Apparently not - Muddy walk home!"

And whilst West Yorkshire Police did not share much sympathy for the delivery driver, many in the comment section had understood why he continued to drive down the field.

One Leeds man, Stephen McAtee said: "In fairness to him, he's out in the middle of nowhere in Yorkshire - he probably thinks all roads are like this!"

Another said: "Poor bloke - he's just trying to make sure everyone gets their Christmas presents in time. True dedication to the job right there!"
