Police patrols stepped up as travellers pitch up in residential street in West Bridgford

Police officers will be patrolling an unauthorised traveller encampment which was set up in a residential street in West Bridgford.

The second encampment in Collington Way comes shortly after a group moved off Greythorn Drive, police say.

Rushcliffe Police said in a statement: "It has been reported that there is another encampment on Collington Way, West Bridgford.

"We will be patrolling in the area, engaging with the travellers, local residents and also Rushcliffe Borough Council."

An encampment was also previously seen near the Victoria Embankment, on the Meadows Recreation Ground, on Sunday, June 28.

The travellers were served a notice to leave by Monday morning (June 29).
