Police patrol car 'rammed off the road'

Police are appealing for information after a patrol car was "rammed off the road" today.

It is understood they were trying to get a 'speeding' BMW to stop before the incident on the M22.

An image of the aftermath shows the badly damaged white Audi smashed into railings at the side of the expressway with its wheel and front bumper off.

PSNI Road Policing and Safety are calling for anyone who may have dashcam footage to come forward.

It is unclear at this stage whether any officers were hurt.

A spokesperson said: "Earlier today, a police patrol tried to stop a blue BMW travelling at high speed on the M22 Randalstown.

"The driver of the BMW failed to stop, and rammed the patrol off the road.

"If anyone has any dash cam footage of this incident, please contact police, incident 1486, 25/4/2020."
