A driver and their child have been taken to hospital after a serious single-car crash in Gungahlin on Thursday morning.
Emergency crews were called to the scene on Mirrabei Drive in Moncrieff about 8am after a car hit a wall along the street.
It's believed the crash was caused by the driver having a medical episode while behind the wheel.
Paramedics treated both the driver and a child who was a passenger in the car at the time following the crash.
They were both taken to Canberra Hospital.
The crash forced several surrounding roads to be closed to traffic during peak hour, leading to delays in the surrounding area.
Mirrabei Drive was closed between Horse Park Drive and Len Waters Street, and Bellhouse Crescent was also closed to traffic for several hours.
