Police on scene near Sainsbury's after 'attack' in Dalkeith as man hospitalised

A man has been hospitalised after amid reports of abroad daylight attack in Midlothian.

Officers raced to Thorny Crook Crescent in Dalkeith, near the local Sainbury's store, when the alarm was raised at 2.45pm.

Police were called after a man was found injured in the residential area.

The man was raced to the Royal infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.

The nature of his injuries and his current condition are yet to be confirmed.

Enquiries are ongoing.

Chief Inspector Arron Klinkscales from Midlothian Police told the Record: "Officers attended Thorny Crook Crescent in Dalkeith at 2.45pm.

"They were called after reports of an injured man in the area.

"The man was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.

"His current condition is unknown.

"Enquiries are continuing."
