Police on quad bikes aim to tackle Knowsley crime

A new policing team is aiming to reduce crime in Knowsley.

Knowsley Police have shared images of officers on quad bikes patrolling Kirkby on their website.

Their post stated they had been using the bikes and deploying them across parks and open spaces across Knowsley, alongside other areas such as Stockbridge Village, Stadt Moers park, Jubilee Park and Primrose Court. The tweet includes the hashtag #OpTarget, referring to policing teams in Merseyside who are dealing with violent crime.

A tweet shared by Knowsley Police also said: “Our #OpTarget teams are focused on tackling serious violence across Merseyside, which includes taking dangerous weapons off our streets, arresting those linked to gang and other serious crime and putting a halt to the production and distribution of drugs.”

This is part of ongoing work by the Knowsley Community Safety Partnership, who are working with Knowsley Council, Merseyside Police, Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service, Merseyside Community Rehabilitation Company and the Merseyside Probation Service in a bid to keep communities safe.
