Police on busy main road after two-year-old boy reported missing

There was a large police response on a busy main road this afternoon after a young child was reported missing.

Eyewitnesses said a large number of officers were spotted on foot walking along High Street, Wavertree at around 4.30pm, while police cars were seen driving around the area. Police confirmed they were responding to a report of a missing two-year-old boy, who has since been found safe and well.

Posting on the Facebook group Wavertree Watch L15, one person said: "I got off the bus and went into Tesco and then noticed all the police around, no sirens and police walking around. Someone has mentioned a little boy has gone missing."
