Police officers taken to hospital after Govan van chase

Two police officers were rushed to hospital following a dramatic chase through Govan this morning.

Cops were pursuing a white van which drove off after being tracked down in Harmony Row at around 10am.

Pictures show the vehicle was damaged during the incident, with police cars surrounding it on Pacific Drive outside the Village Hotel.

The driver of the van has been arrested after allegedly failing to stop.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Enquiries are ongoing after police efforts to trace a van in the Govan area. They located the van in Harmony Row area at around 10:10am but it failed to stop.

"The van was brought to a halt using police tactical measures a short time later in Pacific Drive.

"The van driver was arrested and two police officers were taken to the Queen Elizabeth with minor injuries. Enquiries are continuing into the circumstances surrounding this incident."

Part of Govan Road was blocked while the force carried out investigations.
