Police officers in hysterics as they chase 'dinosaur' down city street

In one of the funnier moments on their shift, police officers couldn't stop laughing as they chased a 'dinosaur' down a city street this weekend.

The fancy dress reveller, whose costume looks about 8ft high, was filmed running away from the police car in Plymouth on Saturday night.

In dashcam footage, the officers can be heard laughing hysterically as they chase the tall T-Rex type figure close to Royal William Yard, Plymouth Live reports .

In a scene like something from Jurassic Park, the 'dinosaur' legs it away from the car as the officers joke about its impressive speed.

One officer said: “Makes you wonder how they became extinct don’t you.”

The Charles Cross Police Team posted the 30 second video of the hysterical chase on their Twitter account.

"Just another late shift in Plymouth," the tweet said.

"We can confirm the Doyouthinkhesawus is NOT extinct and they can run real fast! Let’s hear your best ‘Why did the dinosaur cross the road’ jokes please..."

At the end of the clip, the dinosaur turns around and opens his jaws at the police car.

The video has been retweeted and liked more than 1,000 times on Twitter.
