Police officers attacked while responding to incident in Oldham town centre

Four police officers were attacked after being called to a disturbance in Oldham.

They were responding to an incident on Yorkshire Street at around 10.20pm last Friday when they were assaulted, GMP Said.

The officers were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Two men - aged 24 and 32 - were arrested on suspicion of police assault. A 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of obstruction of a police officer.

The men were released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Police are now appealing for witnesses and urging anyone who has footage of the incident to get in touch.
