Police officer threatened by man with needle after burglary

A man is being sought by police after an officer and a member of the public were threatened with a needle.

Police attended a property in Blackpool after reports of a burglary during which an officer and a member of the public were threatened by a man carrying a needle.

CCTV images released by police in Blackpool show Heathcliffe Griffiths, 49, who has connections to the Cheshire area, as the man they want to speak to following the aggravated burglary on South Park Drive, Blackpool on June 12.

Police also want to speak to Griffiths in connection to several other offences which include burglary, aggravated burglary, assault on an emergency worker, common assault and criminal damage.

He is described as 5ft 7ins tall, of slim build with a bald head and beard.

Griffiths is also wanted on prison recall.

Blackpool Police also say he has links to Cheshire, Blackpool, Greater Manchester and Staffordshire.

PC Kim Roberts, from Blackpool Police, said: “We urgently need to locate Griffiths and I would ask that the public do not approach him but report any sightings to police immediately.

“I would also urge Griffiths to do the right thing and hand himself in at the nearest police station.”
