A Metropolitan Police officer has been injured in a hit-and-run.

The officer suffered lower body injuries after being struck while standing outside a stationary police vehicle which was damaged in the incident on Thursday afternoon.

The driver of the vehicle did not stop at the scene in Dartmouth Park Hill in Camden, north-west London, and police were called at 2.57pm.

The officer, who was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service, suffered injuries which are not life-threatening, a police spokesman said.

Officers are trying to trace both the driver and vehicle.

Anyone who saw the incident, has dashcam or moving footage can call the police on 101 or tweet @MetCC quoting 4030/15APR.

Anyone who wants to stay anonymous can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or visit Crimestoppers_uk.org, the police said.
