Police officer suspended over claims he had sexual relationship with 15-year-old girl he met on Tinder

A policeman has been suspended over allegations he had a relationship with a 15-year-old girl he reportedly met on Tinder.

The London Metropolitan police officer is now on bail after having been arrested in Ealing on suspicion of sexual activity with a child in January.

The unnamed officer allegedly met up with the girl a number of times in central London.

The relationship was discovered after NHS staff alerted police when they became suspicious after he tried to visit the girl in hospital, the Sunday Mirror reports

The girl is understood to have given a video statement about the relationship and the policeman has been ordered to live at an address in another part of the country as part of his bail conditions.

He has also been banned from contacting the girl.

A spokesman for the Met told The Independent: “Police are investigating an allegation of sexual activity with a child.

“The allegation was reported to police on Friday, 29 January - the victim is a girl under the age of 16.

“On 29 January, a serving police constable officer based in Ealing was arrested on suspicion of sexual activity with a child.

“He has been bailed to a date to March.

“The DPS (Directorate of Professional Standards) have been informed and the officer has been suspended.”
