Police officer mocked for failing to keep up with sprinting youth during chase

A policeman has been mocked for failing to catch a fleeing youth during a chase.

The officer struggles to maintain jogging pace as the youngster sprints ahead of him through a crowded park in Glasgow.

The clip, filmed in the city's Kelvingrove Park, shows the suspect racing in front of the policeman.

Meanwhile the officer appears to be weighed down with equipment as he carries his hat in one hand.

Since video footage of the chase has been uploaded, it has sparked widespread ridicule from viewers.

One viewer joked the policeman involved "couldn't catch a cold".
