
A senior constable has suffered a broken nose while arresting a man on the Central Coast.
Tuggerah Lakes officers were called to a home on Perouse Avenue, San Remo, in the early hours of Friday morning following reports of a domestic-related incident.
Upon arrival, around 12.45am, police spoke with a 42-year-old man and attempted to arrest him.
A struggle has ensued before the man allegedly elbowed a male senior constable to the face.
The 42-year-old was arrested and taken to Wyong Police Station where he was charged with six offences, including assaulting police occasioning actual bodily harm, resisting an officer in execution of duty, assault relating to domestic violence, intimidation, and breach of an AVO.
The man was also charged with possess prohibited pistol, after police seized a gel blaster pistol from the scene.
He was refused bail to appear at Wyong Local Court on Friday.
The senior constable was taken to Wyong Hospital for treatment to a broken nose and facial injuries, a second officer suffered cartilage damage to his rib and lacerations to his right arm and knee.
