Police officer injured after 'disturbances' at Maghaberry Prison protest, PSNI says

A police officer has been injured after 'disturbances' at a protest being held outside Maghaberry Prison today, the PSNI says.

A rally took place outside the jail in support of prisoners on hunger strike.

A PSNI spokesman said: "Police have arrested four men, aged in their 20’s, following disturbances at a demonstration being held outside Maghaberry Prison earlier today.

"The men have been arrested on suspicion of a number of public order offences and are currently in custody assisting officers with their enquiries. One police officer was injured as a result of the disturbances."
