A police officer was headbutted while making an arrest in Bolton.
The incident happened after police were called to reports of a disturbance in Garstang Avenue, Breightmet, at 7.30pm on Wednesday (December 23).
After attending, police arrested a 46-year-old man on suspicion of a breach of the peace.
However, during the course of the arrest, the man headbutted an officer.
He was further arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker, said GMP.
The man remains in police custody for questioning.
