A police officer has appeared in court accused of having sex with a woman while on duty on Christmas Eve.
Sergeant Lee Cocking, 38, is accused of misconduct in public office following an alleged incident inside a patrol car.
The Avon and Somerset officer appeared before Gloucester Crown Court to face a judge for the first time but did not enter a plea to the single charge he faced.
The charge states the offence was allegedly committed in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, on December 24 2017.
Judge Ian Lawrie QC, the recorder of Gloucester, fixed a provisional trial date of August 3 and told Cocking he should return to court for a further hearing on March 13.
Cocking, of Labourham Way in Cheddar, Somerset, was released on unconditional bail.
