Police officer could be sacked after stealing £3k in cash

The theft of cash worth more than £3,000 could cost a police officer his job.

PC Timothy Silverwood was arrested in October on suspicion of stealing £2,750 and 550 Euros from someone in Bridgwater.

He pleaded guilty to theft at Bristol Magistrates Court last month.

He is due to be sentenced at Bristol Crown Court on July 15.

PC Silverwood's admission will be considered by a misconduct hearing at the Avon and Somerset Police HQ in Portishead on July 9.
