A police officer has been referred to Lancashire Constabulary's Professional Standards Department after a clip of him calling a civilian a 'f***ing biff' began circulating online.
A video uploaded to YouTuber Reggie Photom's channel, which has 35,000 subscribers, four days ago has since garnered more than 38,000 views. In the video, a person recording a Lancashire Constabulary vehicle at Preston railway station can be seen approaching two officers inside, Lancashire Live reports.
The recorder can be heard saying: "So here we have the Lancashire Police backing up the British Transport Police. They're living the dream I think."

He then proceeds to put the camera up to the van's window, bringing two uniformed officers into view while he puts his hands up and performs a mocking gesture. However, he pauses once an officer notices his presence.
After a few seconds, the officer closest to the camera rolls down the window and exclaims: "Go away, you f***ing biff' to which the person replies: "Biff?". The person continues to question why he is being asked to 'go away', to which the officer replies: "Because I'm busy and I don't have time for people like you."
The officer proceeded to confirm he called the recorder a biff, adding: "You're annoying me now". Despite this, the person recording remained near the window and can be heard shouting 'sergeant', even though the officer rolled the window back up.
Following this, police officers can be seen exiting the van when they see a large group of football fans approaching the railway station. By this point, the person recording the video continues to speak to the officer, who tells him to 'go away' multiple times.
The person recording is then approached by another police officer who encouraged him to leave the scene and get on the train. A female officer asked the man where he was travelling, to which he replied: "I don't have to tell you that."
While approaching the train station, he asks a British Transport Police officer what he thought of the encounter. The video has been shared on social media and Lancashire Police have confirmed that it has been passed onto its professional standards department.
"A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: “We are aware of the video circulating on social media featuring one of our officers and we have referred it to our Professional Standards Department who are dealing with the matter.”
