A spokesperson for the force said: "Police attended at flats on Burley Road, Leeds at about 1.10am on Sunday December 27 to a report of a large gathering of people in breach of Coronavirus legislation.

"Details were taken from those present who were dispersed by officers using the 4E’s principles.

"During the incident a female police officer was assaulted by a male, resulting in her suffering a facial injury.

"An 18-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker and criminal damage. He was bailed pending continuing enquiries."
