Thames Valley Police said the 44-year-old inspector, who has been suspended from his duties at Milton Keynes, was arrested on 7 February.

A force spokesman said he was suspected of causing or inciting prostitution for gain.

The spokesman said: “The 44-year-old man is an inspector based in Milton Keynes.
