Police officer and two men injured after alleged assault in Paisley

A police officer and two men were injured after an alleged assault in Renfrewshire.

The incident took place in Seedhill Road in Paisley at around 9.20pm on Friday.

The officer, plus two men, aged 33 and 36, were rushed to the town's Royal Alexandra Hospital.

All three were later discharged.

Two suspects, age 21 and 20, have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

They are both due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman told the Daily Record: "Two men, aged 21 and 20, have been arrested and charged in connection with a disturbance on Seedhill Road in Paisley, which took place around 9.20pm on Friday, July 3.

"Two men, aged 33 and 36, were taken to Royal Alexandra Hospital and discharged after treatment.

"An officer was assaulted during the incident and was taken to hospital and released after treatment.

"A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal and the two men are expected to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday, 6 July, 2020."
