Police officer accused of trying to buy drugs and having an inappropriate relationship

An Avon and Somerset Police constable has been accused of having a relationship with a woman he met while on duty and trying to buy illegal drugs.

The unnamed officer, identified only as PC A, should have known that the alleged relationship was inappropriate but failed to disclose it to his supervisors.

A notice for his misconduct hearing claims he also disclosed information about a police incident to an unauthorised person, lied about being ill and failed to act honestly when requesting leave.

If proved, the allegations would amount to gross misconduct.

A virtual hearing will be held in public on February 10, hosted at the force HQ in Portishead.
