Police offer update after car roof had to be cut off following Kilmarnock town centre crash

Police have confirmed that there were no serious injuries during a crash in Kilmarnock town centre today.

The one-way system at Green Street was completely shut off as emergency services dealt with a two-car crash that led to a car's roof being cut off to get those inside out.

Cars trying to head round the one-way system were being diverted up towards Wellington Street.

Police were called to the crash just after 12.30pm and they managed to get the road reopened around 2pm.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Police attended a two vehicle crash on Green Street, Kilmarnock which was reported around 12.35pm on Tuesday, November 26. There were no serious injuries and the road was reopened around 2pm."
