Two more of the 11 victims of the Shoreham airshow crash have been named. Police said they were friends Dylan Archer, 42, and Richard Smith, 26, who were heading off on a cycle ride in the South Downs.
The men are the ninth and 10th victims of the disaster to be named either by police or their own families.
Among those the police have already confirmed dead are Tony Brightwell and Mark Reeves, both 53; two Worthing United footballers, Matthew Grimstone and Jacob Schilt, who were both 23; and 76-year-old Maurice Abrahams.
Those identified by their families were 24-year-old Matt Jones, Daniele Polito, who was in the same car as Jones, and 54-year-old Mark Trussler, whose fiancee released a statement via Sussex police.
The West Sussex senior coroner has said that each of the 11 victims has been formally identified and their families have been informed. Their identities will be officially released when an inquest is opened and adjourned on Wednesday.
IT consultant Dylan Archer, a father of two who lived in Brighton, and Richard Smith, who lived in Hove, were due to meet up with a third friend on the day that the vintage jet crashed into the road.
Relatives of Archer, who grew up in the Midlands, said he had a life-long passion for bikes and cars – and had ridden the bike he made himself that day.
They said his “dry humour and generous nature” would be missed. He leaves his partner of 17 years, Alice, their two sons, aged 15 and 12, as well as his sister Ruth and his two-year-old niece.
After going to university in Birmingham, Smith, who was raised in Buckinghamshire, worked in a bicycle shop in the Portsmouth suburb of Cosham in Hampshire, his family said.
Two years ago he moved to Hove, where he worked in marketing and web development at ActSmart, a company that specialises in providing advice to the cycle industry.
His family said: “Richard’s passions in life were for his family, friends and his beloved bikes. His boundless enthusiasm was infectious. He was a truly wonderful, caring and loving person.
“He leaves behind his partner Victoria, his parents Julie and Jonathan, and two much-loved brothers William and Edward. He will be so sorely missed by all who knew him.”
ActSmart’s director, Jonathan Harrison, said: “We are all totally devastated by this tragedy and are still trying to come to terms with the loss of such a young, fun individual who had endless potential in life and in his career.”
