Police name teenager who was killed in motorbike collision in County Durham

A teenager who died following a motorcycle collision in County Durham has been named by police.

Logan Soakell, 19, was killed in the crash on Haswell Front Street on Friday night and police are now asking for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

Emergency services were called to the scene on the B1280 at Salter’s Lane shortly before 8.30pm.

The motorcycle carrying the rider and pillion passenger left the carriageway before colliding with a telegraph pole.

Logan, who is believed to have been riding the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second man, who is believed to be the pillion passenger remains in a critical condition in hospital.

A spokesperson for Durham Constabulary said: "Anyone who witnessed the incident or has dash cam footage is asked to contact Durham Constabulary on 101, quoting incident reference 426 of September 6."
