Police name suspect after Tesco store hit by shoplifter 11 times in three weeks

A Liverpool man has been charged following a number of offences over the festive period.

Between December 4 and December 25, a total of 11 shoplifting offences were reported at the Tesco Metro store on Aigburth Road.

Merseyside Police confirmed that following enquiries a man was detained by officers and has been charged with shoplifting and a breach of a restraining order.

Jonathan Lowey, 38, of Aigburth Road, was charged with 11 counts of theft and seven of breaching a restraining order.

Lowey has been remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Magistrates Remand Court this morning (December 31).
