Police name suspect after terrifying weapons found in homemade explosives probe

Police today named a man accused of being behind a terrifying arsenal of weapons seized as part of a investigation into homemade explosives.

Officers took the guns off the streets on Thursday as part of a Merseyside Police's probe into making and modification of guns and explosives.

Pictures of the weapons appear to show a hand gun, two shotguns and a machine gun, which were found when the man was arrested.

Today police confirmed 30-year-old Michael Green from Micawber Close, Toxteth has been charged over the weapons seizure and due before Liverpool magistrates today.

He is accused of three counts of possessing a firearm; two counts of selling / transfering prohibited weapon / ammunition and two counts of possessing ammunition.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "Green has been remanded in custody to appear this morning Friday,December 6."
