Police name suspect after armed police seize gun in shed raid

A man suspected of owning a gun and ammunition found stashed in a shed during a raid by armed officers was named by police.

An armed response team retrieved the weapon wrapped in tea towel and a magazine containing three 9mm rounds of ammunition during the search of an outbuilding in Netherton during the early hours of Tuesday.

Two bags of suspected cocaine were also found in the kitchen when officers searched the house in Chester Avenue.

Police released images of the weapon and magazine.

Graham Sullivan, 52 of Chester Avenue, Netherton was charged with possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition and possession of a controlled Class A drug.

He was due to appear at Wirral Magistrates Court today.
