Police name motorcyclist who died after Chilwell crash

Police have named a motorcyclist who died after a crash in Chilwell.

Officers were called at around 2.40pm on Monday, May 31, to a report of a crash in Field Lane.

Kieron Humphrey, 39, of Chilwell, was taken to hospital where he, unfortunately, died as a result of his injuries.

His family is being supported by specialist officers.

Detective Constable Emma Temple, of Nottinghamshire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with Kieron’s family who have asked that their privacy is respected at this difficult time.

"Our investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I would appeal to anyone who saw what happened or who saw the motorbike prior to the incident to please come forward.

"We’d also like to hear from anyone who may have been driving in the area around the time and captured dash-cam footage or any local residents who may have CCTV footage which could help us with our investigation."

Nottinghamshire Live reported that officers closed off roads in the Field Lane and Lansdown Close area following the collision. They were re-opened at around 7.50pm on Monday evening.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 423 of 31 May 2021.
