Police name man who died in Nottinghamshire crash

Police have named a man who died in a crash - and his wife continues to receive treatment in hospital.

Nottinghamshire Police were called to a stretch of the A614, Farnsfield, following a report that two cars had crashed near the junction with Baulker Lane and Longland Lane.

The incident happened just before 3.55pm on Saturday, February 26, and a man and a woman were taken to hospital after emergency services arrived at the scene.

Bill Taylor, 77, from Burton Joyce, died in hospital on Monday. February 28.

His wife, Rosemary, continues to receive treatment for her injuries, which are described as significant but not life-threatening.

Sergeant Craig Luckett, from Nottinghamshire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "It is tragic to the hear the news that Bill lost his life following this incident.

"His family have been informed and they are being supported by specially trained officers at this extremely difficult time. They have also asked for privacy as they come to terms with this terrible loss.

"Our investigation into the circumstances of the collision are continuing."

Nottinghamshire Police have urged anyone who witnessed the incident or with dash-cam footage or further information to get in touch on 101, quoting incident 530 of February 26.
