Police name man who died in Co Down crash

Police have released the name of the man who died after a collision in Castlewellan on Saturday.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the PSNI confirmed that Svilen Genchev Stoyanov passed away following the incident on the Ballylough Road on the morning of May 23.

Mr Stoyanov, who was 37 years old, was originally from Kubrat in Bulgaria but lived in Northern Ireland.

A police spokesperson said: "The victim was the rider of a scooter. 

"Anyone who witnessed the collision, or captured it on their dash cam, is asked to contact local officers in Downpatrick or the Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting reference 541 23/05/20."
